Iggy Azalea only closed on her new Hidden Hills home last week, but she’s already clashed with a neighbor over renovation work she’s begun at the property. And it appears the “Fancy” hitmaker is gearing for an all-out war, taking to Twitter to label the unnamed neighbor a “snitch” and a “bored ass housewife.” The Aussie-born rapper also escalated the conflict, publicly tweeting “Little does she know, f**king with her is now my new hobby and life’s work. You live next to a Gemini now sweetie. Hi, I’m petty!” [sic]
Though Azalea didn’t share many details about the home improvements — which she claims have already been approved by a planning commission — in her Twitter feed, she did say she’s planning to build a full backyard playground for her 1-year-old son Onyx, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend, rapper Playboi Carti, complete with a Zipline “that may or may not secretly be for mommy.” The renovations, she adds, are expected to take at least 1.5 years, so all we can say is, “Neighbor beware!” There’s evidently a “marathon of petty” coming your way.
The hip-hop star’s new acquisition is a classic one-story, wood-and-brick ranch estate with a guesthouse, and was previously owned by Jim Carrey’s adult daughter Jane Carrey. Records reveal Azalea paid Carrey $5.2 million — a whopping $605,000 over the asking price — and is moving to the celeb-stocked Hidden Hills community from nearby Calabasas, where she rented a mansion for the past several years.
Nestled on more than an acre of land, and secluded from the street by a white picket fence and towering trees, the residence was originally built in 1963 and extensively updated in 2006. Once inside the five-bedroom, five-bathroom property, a spacious great room serves as a focal point of the house with a soaring vaulted beam ceiling, hardwood floors and a striking stone fireplace.
