Ever since Freddy Kennett officially burst onto the EDM scene as one-half of the DJ/production duo known as Louis the Child about eight years ago, his career hasn’t missed a beat. On the heels of the debut single “It’s Strange” featuring K.Flay, Kennett and his music partner Robby Hauldren went on to tour with the likes of Madeon and The Chainsmokers, before eventually selling out their own shows as headliners.
Now Kennett’s living circumstances are progressing as well, with the successful musician having just doled out nearly $2.9 million for Spanish/Mediterranean-style digs in Hollywood Hills. Won in a bidding war for around $146,000 over the original asking price, his newly acquired property was built in 1926, and includes four bedrooms and four baths in almost 3,900 square feet of recently remodeled living space boasting rustic hardwood floors and high ceilings throughout. Large expanses of glass also provide sweeping views of Downtown L.A., Hollywood and the Wilshire Corridor.
Tucked securely away behind walls and a gate that leads into a spacious outdoor courtyard, the multi-level stucco and terracotta-roof structure is fronted by an attached two-car garage. An entry corridor flows inside, where an open-concept great room displays a fireside living room with French doors spilling out to a covered balcony. A dining area connects to a brick-accented kitchen, which is outfitted with an eat-in breakfast bar and high-end stainless appliances.
Additional highlights include a window-lined master retreat that comes complete with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, and bath sporting dual vanities and an open shower; and elsewhere is a wine room, and movie theater with LED lighting and its own kitchenette. Outdoors, a wood deck running along the rear of the house offers plenty of room to entertain guests and has steps traversing down to a small grassy patio area.
A Chicago native, the 25-year-old musician also maintains another 1920s Spanish-style home in the Hollywood Dell neighborhood of L.A. that he paid $1.2 million for back in early 2019.
