She’s got to be kitten us! Barely a year after Doja Cat bought the place, the TikTok meme queen-turned-international pop music superstar has already purred out of her Los Angeles home. Yes, everyone’s favorite proudly eccentric celebrity has listed the place for sale at just under $2.5 million, a modest profit over the $2.2 million she paid back in February 2021.
During her short ownership tenure, the 26-year-old L.A. native made a handful of improvements to the property, which is tucked away on a narrow road just off Mulholland Drive, high up in the rugged mountains above Beverly Hills. Most notably, she installed a big wooden gate that now separates the driveway from the public road out front. Naturally, the property is additionally secured by cameras and an alarm system.
It appears Doja Cat has already departed the house, as the rooms are mostly empty and appear staged. Still, fans will surely recognize the interiors, which were frequently featured on the Grammy Award winner’s TikTok and Instagram live sessions. On the main level, a combo living-dining-family room area features walls of glass, whitewashed walls and ceilings, and there’s a midcentury-style fireplace that could date to 1960, when the house was built. There’s also a petite but stylish kitchen with curved cabinetry, quartz countertops, bar seating and high-end stainless appliances.
Also on the main floor are two guest bedrooms, one of them opening to the pool area via glass doors and the other one done up as a pastel-pink “glam room” by Doja Cat herself. The penthouse-level master suite takes up the home’s entire second floor and features a roomy bedroom, a long row of wall closets and a gray bathroom with a concrete bathtub.
The 8,000-square-foot lot isn’t huge, but the property does feature a backyard plunge pool that’s heated for chilly nights, several built-in seating areas, concrete decks and young olive trees. There’s also a two-car garage and driveway parking for two additional vehicles.
Outside of her hit songs (“Say So,” “Like That,” “Kiss Me More”), Doja Cat — real name Amala Dlamini — is known for her wardrobe full of colorfully unique outfits, her fun-loving and offbeat sense of humor and for recently getting in a personal squabble with “Stranger Things” star Noah Schnapp.
