Back in late 2015, immediately after she signed on for another two-year residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Britney Spears doled out $7.4 million for an Italianate-inspired mansion in the unincorporated Hidden Valley region near Thousand Oaks. Ever since, that sprawling 21-acre home base has served as ground zero for many momentous occasions in the pop music superstar’s life, all of which have played out on the worldwide stage.
Think provocative impromptu Instagram dance routines and widely seen documentaries (“Framing Britney Spears,” “Britney vs. Spears”) released during the pandemic, plus the subsequent end of a controversial 13-year conservatorship that began way back in 2008. And in September 2021 came the happy news of Spears’ engagement to her longtime beau, Iran-born fitness trainer Sam Asghari, 28, who the 40-year-old singer met when he played her love interest in her 2016 “Slumber Party” music video.
Most recently, though, the palatial and picturesque pad was the site of the couple’s surprise June 2022 nuptials, which Spears’ first husband Jason Alexander (to whom she was married for 55 hours in 2004) attempted to upstage.
Despite that wedding-crasher snafu — which resulted in Alexander being arrested and booked for trespassing, vandalism and battery — the eventual ceremony went off without a hitch, complete with about 60 celebrity guests including Madonna, Paris Hilton, Drew Barrymore, Selena Gomez and Donatella Versace, who designed the $20,000 wedding dress!
The vast house itself was designed by architect Ronald Firestone and built in 2000, and is set on a hilltop parcel within a guard-gated community, and behind private driveway gates of its own. Reportedly also once occupied by actor Adam Sandler, the spread would be likely worth well north of $10 million on today’s open market.
Spears — whose estimated net worth is around $70 million — has indeed come a long way from her childhood home in Kentwood, Louisiana. In addition to her Hidden Valley manse, she’s also owned or rented numerous other mansions over the years, including a hacienda-style compound inside the Sherwood Country Club and her infamous Mediterranean-esque villa in the mountains above Beverly Hills.
And for what it’s worth, Spears apparently has a thing for casual house weddings. She also married Kevin “K-Fed” Federline way back in 2004 at a plush Studio City home that was owned at the time by her wedding planner, Alyson Fox.
