It’s been barely seven months since Britney Spears doled out $11.8 million for a sprawling Calabasas mansion. But TMZ is now reporting that the international pop music superstar has been quietly shopping her place in the double-gated Estates at the Oaks neighborhood off-market with a slight $200,000 bump in price, asking exactly $12 million.
And a potential sale might already be in the works, per the news outlet, and could close as soon as February. According to them, Spears “quickly moved out of the home after moving in — mainly because the house was way too exposed for her,” and didn’t filter any funds at all into renovations.
Spears purchased the opulent digs from car dealership mogul Bill Slevin, shortly after her June wedding to Iran-born fitness trainer Sam Asghari, which was held at her Italianate-inspired mansion in the unincorporated Hidden Valley region near Thousand Oaks. Built in 2008, the beige-hued stucco and terracotta-roof structure includes seven bedrooms and nine baths spread across over 11,000 square feet of single-level living space accessible via soaring custom steel entry doors opening into a 33-foot foyer clad in Cantera stone.
From there, the lavish interiors are adorned throughout with imported onyx, hardwood and stone floors, vaulted ceilings, wide arched hallways, bespoke chandeliers, Ann Sacks mosaic tile designs and hand-carved fireplaces. There also are plenty of glitzy amenities — a wine cellar, 10-seat movie theater with Dolby surround sound, wet bar-equipped lounge and room dedicated solely to gift wrapping, just to name a few.
Especially standing out is a gourmet kitchen outfitted with top-tier stainless appliances, a massive center island and an accompanying breakfast nook, which connects to a spacious family room with floor-to-ceiling glass doors spilling out to a 2,000-square-foot patio ideal for al fresco entertaining with a fireplace and barbecue center. Elsewhere are a fireside living room and formal dining room, along with a wood-paneled study.
A sumptuous master retreat is decked out with a fireplace, seating area, terrace, an exercise room, dual walk-in closets sporting walnut and alder wood cabinetry, and a marble bath with a soaking tub and steam shower; and outdoors the resort-like grounds host a 55-foot pool and spa with tiered waterfalls and a waterslide, as well as a detached one-bedroom guesthouse and five-car garage.
Though Spears and Asghari may have already sold their Calabasas property, they are far from homeless. The couple still maintain the 21-acre Thousand Oaks mansion Spears bought for $7.4 million back in late 2015, right after the 41-year-old singer signed on for another two-year residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
