Though there’s no word on where Sara Sampaio will ultimately land — especially now that she’s sold her loft in New York City’s East Village neighborhood and dropped around $110,000 on an uninhabitable virtual island getaway — the globetrotting fashion and runway model has hoisted her Los Angeles residence up for sale. Records show she’s asking a speck under $5 million, or around $1 million more than she paid for the place back in summer 2019.
Probably most known for her work as a Victoria’s Secret Angel and Giorgio Armani beauty ambassador, Portugal-born Sampaio, 31, also recently ventured into the corporate arena, having invested in and become the newly minted chief innovation officer of PHUNK, a global manufacturer of hard seltzer drinks. In addition to identifying strategies, business opportunities and new technologies, she’ll also help create products under her own name.
As for Sampaio’s L.A. house, the boxy stucco and wood-accented structure is tucked away on a 0.17-acre parcel of land securely protected by gates, walls and cameras. Built and designed by Adam Rimon in 2018, the five-bedroom, five-bath property contains 4,400-plus square feet of two-level living space sporting high ceilings and walls of glass providing seamless indoor/outdoor environs. There’s also a roof deck offering west-facing views of the Downtown LA. Skyline, Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park.
A wood-clad front door opens into an open-concept layout rife with neutral hues of gray and white complemented by light hardwood floors. Highlights here include a double-height foyer displaying a floating staircase, which flows via a lengthy hallway past a wet bar and climate-controlled wine closet on its way to a spacious family room boasting Italian porcelain tile floors and a floor-to-ceiling linear fireplace.
A dining room with an expansive built-in buffet and sliding glass doors adjoins a professional chef’s kitchen, which is outfitted with European-style cabinetry, top-tier stainless appliances and a quartz-topped eat-in island that seats five. A bedroom on the lower level has been converted into a crimson-hued movie theater, and elsewhere is a study.
Upstairs, the inviting master retreat is decked out with a decorative wood accent wall, wet bar/dressing area, private balcony, walk-in closet, and two-way fireplace that connects to a spa-inspired bath equipped with a soaking tub and two-person steam shower. This level also offers access to the aforementioned roof deck, which is outfitted with a wet bar and cozy fire-pit.
In the fully hedged backyard, expect to find a pool and spa with a waterfall feature on one end and sundeck on the other, as well as a covered lounge area hosting a fire-pit and an al fresco dining area flanked by a built-in barbecue station. Not missing a step: a Control4 smart-home system and an attached two-car garage out front.
