Jordan Maron is growing up. The popular YouTuber and Twitch streamer, sometimes known by his online alias CaptainSparklez, is selling his Hollywood Hills party house and moving to the family-friendly city of Pasadena, where he’s bought a midcentury modern home on an increasingly celebrity-laden street. Some of his nearest neighbors include “Beverly Hills, 90210” star Jennie Garth and pornographic actress Riley Reid.
Built in 1956, resting on 1.7 acres of hillside land and designed by noted modernist architect Lyman Ennis, the house features three bedrooms and two baths in just over 3,500 square feet. While the interiors have been updated in recent years, the exterior still maintains the walls of glass and architectural details that have defined it for nearly 70 years.
There’s a caterer-ready kitchen with dual islands, premium stainless appliances and quartz countertops, plus a fireplace-equipped great room with majestic views of the San Gabriel Mountains. Stone gray wool carpeting covers many of the home’s floors, nicely blending here and there with midcentury-appropriate terrazzo in the bathrooms and kitchen.
Located in its own wing of the single-story residence, the master retreat offers a fireplace, sitting area and spa-style bath, though its views and direct access to the backyard undoubtedly steal the scene. Out back, the grounds include native plantings, a covered loggia ideal for al fresco dining, various patios and a curvaceous swimming pool.
Maron, 31, is a Los Angeles native and car enthusiast who came to online prominence primarily via streaming his Minecraft gameplay on YouTube. Over the years, he’s amassed more than 4.5 billion lifetime views and roughly 14 million subscribers across his numerous channels on the platform.
