After years spent living on the hipster-chic Eastside of Los Angeles, longtime internet celebrity Jennifer “Jenn” Im is relocating to a more family-friendly area of town. The fashion/beauty YouTuber and her husband Ben Joliffe, an English former alt-rock drummer, have paid $2.7 million — a whopping $211,000 over the asking price, indicating there was some stiff competition — for an all-new house in the San Fernando Valley’s leafy Sherman Oaks neighborhood. Simultaneously, Im has also punted her current Silver Lake home onto the market, where it’s now available with a $1.375 million pricetag.
Im, who was born and raised primarily in the L.A. suburb of Hacienda Heights to Korean immigrants, began vlogging more than a decade ago and has since amassed a substantial fanbase, with nearly three million subscribers and upwards of 300 million views on her YouTube channel. Her influencer status has led to collabs with big-name brands — Calvin Klein, ColourPop, Revolve, and many more — and her own fashion line, Eggie, which debuted in 2017.
Built in the ever-trendy modern farmhouse architectural style and completed this year, Im’s new Sherman Oaks pad is a nearly 3,800-square-foot structure described in listing materials as “showstopping,” with a “striking exterior.” Behind the two-tone façade are five beds and 6.5 baths, all of them tied together via an open floorplan lined with wide-plank oak flooring, brass fixtures, and wood-beamed ceilings. A wee covered front porch overlooks the pancake-flat front lawn, and there’s an attached two car garage behind a black door.
