After more than a year of highly controversial antics, bitter public feuds and falling views, it’s probably not surprising that longtime internet celebrity Gabbie Hanna has put her Los Angeles home up for sale. The YouTuber-turned-TikTok star is asking just under $3.1 million for the vibrant Studio City property, which she bought four years ago for about $2.2 million from actor Rhys Darby (“Yes Man,” “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”).
Located in the desirable and family-friendly Colfax Meadows neighborhood pocket, the Cape Cod-style residence is mostly obscured from public view behind gates and a tall hedge. A narrow walkway choked by sprays of white roses leads to the magenta-colored house, and there’s also a concrete driveway with chalk artwork depicting a melting ice cream cone and the phrases “Enjoy!” and “You just really gotta trust the process.”
But don’t be fooled by the funky paint and hippy-dippy art — this house is owned by someone who earns serious money. That’s evidenced by the state-of-the-art “security cameras and … comprehensive security system,” which per the listing have been newly installed, and the numerous smart-home amenities, which include Nest thermostats throughout, a sound system and a brand-new HVAC system, all of them controllable via an app or multiple panels scattered throughout the structure. There’s also a water softener and built-in water filtration system.
Inside, the open floorplan connects the living, dining and family rooms into a single joint space where white walls and white oak floors are contrasted against colorful artwork and decor. Opening directly to the backyard, the kitchen features marble countertops and premium stainless appliances, and there’s a large walk-in pantry for additional storage.
Also on the ground floor, ensconced in their own wing, are four of the home’s five bedrooms. All of those appear to have been converted into work-from-home offices or casual lounge areas, and all are decorated with a riotous cacophony of framed art and lurid wallpaper. Upstairs, the loft-style master bedroom features a wraparound private balcony, sitting area and spa-style bathroom with a freestanding tub.
Out back, the mostly hardscaped yard includes a large covered cabana, plenty of patio space for entertaining and a pool/jacuzzi combo. While there’s no garage, the long driveway has tandem parking for at least two vehicles.
Hanna, 32, first rose to fame on the now-defunct Vine app before becoming a full-time YouTuber, where she quickly became one of the platform’s biggest stars, with accolades including millions of subscribers and more than one billion lifetime views. That fame followed her to TikTok, where the aspiring singer/songwriter also sports nearly eight million followers.
Over the past two years, however, Hanna has made headlines primarily for alleged mental health challenges and increasingly erratic antics — she reportedly allowed a stranger who knocked on her door to wander inside her home for hours, posted more than 100 bizarre TikToks in a single day, and became involved in public feuds with multiple other social media celebrities.
Michael Bergin of Compass holds the listing.
