Almost a year after it first hit the market with a nearly $20 million price tag, Sofia Vergara’s Italian-style villa in Beverly Hills has popped up for sale again, this time with a substantially reduced ask.
The Colombian-born actress and model — probably best known for her 11-season run as Gloria on the TV series “Modern Family” — and her husband, “True Blood” actor Joe Manganiello, are now seeking a smidge under $18 million for the half-acre-plus spread.
That discounted price is still $7.4 million over what she paid for the place before her marriage a little more than nine years ago, back in winter 2014. But during their tenure, the couple extensively remodeled the 2006-built premises in collaboration with L.A.-based designer Jennifer Bevan.
Hidden securely away behind walls, gates and high hedges, and fronted by a three-car garage and spacious motorcourt, the creamy stucco and terracotta-roof structure is described in the listing as “refined and romantic,” and features seven bedrooms and 11 baths in almost 11,400 square feet of chic modern living space on three levels.
Highlights include a double-height foyer displaying a striking curving staircase, which flows to formal living and dining rooms. The family room has French doors opening to the outside, and adjoins a sleekly designed gourmet kitchen outfitted with a large center island, high-end Viking appliances and a breakfast nook.
All of the bedrooms are of the en-suite variety, and include an upper-level master retreat sporting dual closets and spa-inspired baths, while the lower level is primed for entertaining with a snazzy wet bar, 3,000-bottle wine cellar and tasting room, 10-seat movie theater and gym with sauna. Outdoors, the sloped and grassy backyard is laced with privacy hedges and mature trees, and hosts a grassy lawn, pool and spa, and several spots ideal for al fresco lounging and dining.
Vergara and Manganiello long ago moved to a 17,000-square-foot mansion in the guard gated community of Beverly Park, high in the mountains above Beverly Hills. They picked up that property in 2020 for $26 million.
The newly priced estate is co-listed with Barry Peele of Sotheby’s International Realty and Santiago Arana of The Agency.
