It’s no lie! Shay Mitchell is officially the latest celeb to buy in ritzy Hidden Hills, joining countless other famous faces now calling the guard-gated San Fernando Valley enclave home — from NFL star Matthew Stafford, Lil Wayne and Madonna to rapper Iggy Azalea, Jeffree Star and nearly every member of the Kardashian clan, just to name a few. Records reveal the “Pretty Little Liars” star — who parents a daughter with longtime partner Matte Babel, a former “Entertainment Tonight Canada” reporter — has doled out $7.2 million for a Mediterranean-inspired estate with nearly 8,000 square feet of living space spread across a main house, plus a detached guesthouse and and pool house. Nearly every square inch of the 1.5-acre property offers sweeping pastoral views.
Mitchell still owns her former home — a 1920s Los Feliz villa she purchased from “The Hangover” actor Justin Bartha for $3.7 million in 2014.
Best known for her breakout role as Emily Fields on the long-running mystery thriller drama series “Pretty Little Liars,” Mitchell also has appeared in multiple other big- and small-screen productions, including “Rookie Blue,” “You,” “The Possession of Hannah Grace,” and most recently, the Hulu comedy series “Dollface.” She also hosts a YouTube lifestyle channel, which has racked up 4.2 million subscribers, and she’s the cofounder and chief brand officer of Onda, a sparkling tequila company based in Jalisco, Mexico. On top of that, she’s a major-level influencer with more than 30 million followers on Instagram.
Built in 1990 and designed by glitz-loving architect Richard Landry, Mitchell’s residence has extensive exterior stonework topped by a red tile roof. The lush lot is dotted by mature oak trees and oodles of multicolored roses; while a double front door notched into a turret opens into a circular grand foyer with French doors leading right out to the backyard.
The listing was held by Marc Shevin of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties and Milla Pariser of Rodeo Realty; Mitchell was repped by Carl Gambino of Compass.
