Actress Rose McIver — who currently has the lead role in the CBS supernatural sitcom “Ghosts,” but is probably still best known for playing crime-solving, brain-eating medical examiner Olivia “Liv” Moore in CW’s comedy-drama series ‘iZombie” for five seasons — has just doled out $2.4 million for a stylish hacienda-style home in Los Angeles, tucked away in the hip Atwater Village neighborhood of Los Angeles.
After it popped up on the market for just over $2 million this past June, records show the New Zealand-born actress won the place in a bidding war — paying more than $340,000 over asking.
Described in the listing as a “stunning Atwater Village traditional that has it all and then some,” the 1930s house weighs in at just over 1,700 square feet, and includes three bedrooms and two baths. Recently updated by its previous owner, the two-story residence boasts lovely interiors accented throughout with the original hardwood floors, wood-beam ceilings and modern amenities.
Gates and high hedges front the stucco and gambrel-roof structure, which is highlighted by a sparsely landscaped yet expansive courtyard with a seating area. Once inside, a spacious light-filled living room is adorned with matchstick light fixtures, a large picture window and wood-burning fireplace with a red brick surround. An adjacent dining room opens to a nicely updated kitchen, which is outfitted with jade-hued cabinetry, an organic tile backsplash, top-tier stainless appliances and an eat-in peninsula.
All of the bedrooms are secluded in separate wings of the home, including a primary suite sporting a custom walk-in closet and sliding glass doors spilling out to the backyard, plus a spa-inspired bath equipped with a soaking tub and shower. Two additional bedrooms and a bath can be found on the first floor; elsewhere is an approximately 500-square-foot finished attic that could easily serve as a playroom, guest accommodations or an office.
Outdoors, the hedged grounds span less than a quarter of an acre, and contain a heated pool, covered patio and a detached two-care garage that’s been converted into extra living space.
A native of Auckland, New Zealand, the 33-year-old actress made her film debut in “The Piano” at age 3, and went on to snag roles in “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” and “Xena: Warrior Princess.” McIver has since appeared in numerous movies and TV series, including “The Lovely Bones,” “Petals on the Wind,” “Power Rangers” RPM,” “Masters of Sex” and “Once Upon a Time,” as well as Netflix’s “Christmas Prince” trilogy.
