Renée Zellweger Seeks $6 Million for Mountaintop Hacienda

With a second Oscar statuette as a feather in her professional cap for the acclaimed 2019 biopic “Judy,” and a budding romance with freshly divorced “Wheeler Dealers” star Ant Anstead, Renée Zellweger now seeks to shed Glory Point, her secluded and newly rehabbed hideaway in Topanga, Calif., in the ruggedly beautiful and bone-dry mountains between Malibu and Calabasas. The asking price is one buck below $6 million.

The “Bridget Jones’ Diary” and “Chicago” star, who more recently starred in the Netflix miniseries “What/If”, and is set to star as murderer Pam Hupp in the upcoming NBC limited series “The Thing About Pam,” purchased the almost ten-acre spread about 6.5 years ago for $3.35 million and only recently completed what listings held by Carl Gambino of Compass describe as a “Down to the studs rebuild”.

Picturesquely positioned down a narrow winding road with panoramic views, not too far from what’s known as The Great Wall of Topanga, the casually appointed hacienda-style residence snakes across more than 4,400 square feet and showcases Venetian plaster arches, discreet speakers in the wood-beamed ceilings, authentic Spanish floor tiles and, in the living room, a floor-to-ceiling fireplace built by a European stone mason.

Other spaces for relaxed living and entertaining include a kitchen/family room combination that opens to the pool, a small office/library, and cozily proportioned den decked out with a huge neon and metal sculpture in the unmistakable shape of Zellweger’s home state of Texas.

Bougainvillea winds around the numerous wooden porch columns that line the angled rear of the residence where rustic stone terracing surrounds a sunken spa and infinity-edge swimming pool that looks out over the surrounding canyons and mountains.

Spotted over the summer hanging around and moving a few things into Anstead’s recently purchased $2.8 million ocean-view home in Laguna Beach, Zellweger has long maintained a solid foothold on the East Coast where she’s owned homes in the Hamptons, Connecticut and New York City, the latter a trio of apartments in a swank boutique apartment house on the Upper East Side that she picked up in a series of 2007 and 2008 transactions that totaled $8.2 million, put up for sale in 2010 for $8.95 million and sold for an undisclosed amount in 2011 to retired actress Leelee Sobieski and fashion designer Adam Kimmel. Her current holdings include a 39-acre spread near pretty Pomfret Center, Conn., that she acquired in late 2004 for $1.32 million and briefly had for sale in 2011 at $1.5 million.
