‘Abbott Elementary’ Star Quinta Brunson Buys San Fernando Valley House

Back in 2014, burgeoning West Philadelphia comedian Quinta Brunson moved to Los Angeles, snagged a day job as an Apple store technician and self-produced the comic Instagram series “The Girl Who’s Never Been on a Nice Date” in her spare time. Her videos went viral — even sparking the mega-popular “Oh, he got monneeeeyyyyy” meme — and eventually led to a job at BuzzFeed, where the former Second City improv student created yet more popular clips on subjects like the perks of being short (she’s a pint-sized 5 feet tall, by the way).

Following her BuzzFeed gig, Brunson parlayed her newfound fame into a stint on the first season of HBO’s Emmy-nominated “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” along with roles on ABC’s “Single Parents” and The CW’s “iZombie.” She also penned a book of deeply personal and humorous essays about her unusual path to fame, titled “She Memes Well”; and, most recently, the 32-year-old actor snagged a new deal with ABC to create, write, produce and star in “Abbott Elementary,” a 13-episode workplace comedy series set in a fictional Philadelphia public school.

All of Brunson’s success — she’s been named one of Forbes’ “30 Under 30 in Hollywood & Entertainment,” and one of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Next Gen” rising young stars of 2020 — has now led to the purchase of what looks to be her first residence, an unassuming albeit charming $1.5 million home in the suburban San Fernando Valley community of Valley Village.

Described in the listing as an “iconic original Palm Springs-inspired midcentury modern residence with an L.A. vibe.,” the 1960s house weighs in at just over 2,100 square feet, and includes four bedrooms and three baths. Meticulously maintained through the years, with its original architectural detail remaining largely intact, the place has been nicely upgraded with modern-day amenities.

A grassy lawn, redwood fence and decorative two-car garage front the single-story taupe and white house, which is highlighted by a vaulted and sky-lit courtyard leading to double front doors.
