Back in 2016, actor Patrick John Flueger — best known for his role as Adam Ruzek on the long-running “Chicago P.D.” TV series — purchased this four-story villa in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Marina del Rey, right on the border with Venice. At the time, the three-bedroom, three-bath space cost him $1.8 million; now, a little over six years later, the place has returned to the market with a nearly $2.2 million ask.
“I love this house and I hate to give it up,” Flueger told Dirt. “But as sometimes happens, my job is taking me away from California and into the Midwest, and while I’ve tried to hold onto it as long as I can — and I have a feeling I might regret selling it as soon as the papers are signed — it seems only right that somebody new should get to enjoy it as much as I have over the years.”
Originally built in 1990, but gussied up in collaboration with interior designer Lauren McGrady during the Minnesota native’s tenure, the stucco and terracotta-roof structure features 2,869 square feet of living space — all of it boasting colorfully painted rooms adorned with tile and hardwood floors.
A hedge-lined gate out front opens to a courtyard hosting a fireside lounge area shaded by tall palm trees, while a walkway off to the side leads to an entry door around the back. Inside, the main level is highlighted by a cobalt blue-hued living room sporting large picture windows and a fireplace.
Soaring wood shelves separate the living room from an adjacent den area, which opens via French doors to the front courtyard; and a sleekly designed kitchen features an orange accent wall as a focal point, and comes complete with high-end stainless appliances, a wine fridge and Miele espresso machine.
On the floor above, a spacious reddish-pink dining room has a wet bar tucked into an arched nook, and connects to an ensuite guest bedroom that, per the listing, could also be used as an office. The third level holds a huge master suite equipped with a walk-in closet, balcony, and an oversized bath including dual vanities set against a zebra-striped wall, an oval soaking tub and a glass-encased shower, and an additional ensuite bedroom with a balcony and closet can be found on the home’s fourth level.
Rounding it all out is a roof deck ideal for entertaining, complete with a dining area and built-in barbecue, along with a three-car garage.
Flueger, 38, netted his first major role in the 2001 Disney film “The Princess Diaries,” and his big break came a few years later when he was tapped as Shawn Farrell in the USA Network series “The 4400.” The TV/film actor also has appeared in “JAG,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “CSI Miami” and the 2011 remake of “Footloose.”
