Milla Jovovich has 4.6 million reasons to smile, and just in time for the holidays. The fashion model and “Resident Evil” actress — her films have grossed north of $1.6 billion worldwide — has sold one of her several Los Angeles homes for more than double the $2.2 million she paid for the place nearly two decades ago, way back in 2003.
It was actually Jovovich’s longtime husband, “Resident Evil” director Paul W.S. Anderson, who technically acquired the Beverly Hills-adjacent property in 2003, prior to their marriage; tax records show he deeded the property over to Jovovich just a few months later. The couple lived here in the mid-2000s, though they long ago moved to a much grander home in the same neighborhood. Ever since then, this particular 90210 spot has been primarily used for rental income.
Because the house was never officially listed for sale, photos and specific details are somewhat lacking. But tax records show the place was originally built in the 1960s as a classic midcentury modern, but underwent a extensive ’90s remode that transformed it into a quasi-contemporary. There are four bedrooms on the boxy premises, all of them with ensuite baths, and the structure spans a generous 4,200 square feet to be enjoyed by local businessman Zahi Ashkenazi, the lucky new owner.
Other amenities include an attached two-car garage that lies on the home’s basement level, plus a dark-bottomed swimming pool and triangular patch of grassy lawn out back. Hilltop views sweep westward, over the city of Beverly Hills and the Century City skyscrapers.
Over the years, Jovovich and Anderson have amassed a substantial L.A. real estate portfolio. They still own an investment property in the Mount Olympus neighborhood of the Hollywood Hills and a multimillion-dollar 90210 home that’s been described as a “Palm Springs-style midcentury.” But the family’s main residence has long been an $8.5 million, Tuscan-style villa in the mountains above Beverly Hills, tucked up a long driveway and just a quick jog to L.A.’s Coldwater Canyon.
Once the highest-paid model on the planet, Jovovich was born in Ukraine but raised primarily in Moscow before emigrating to Los Angeles with her parents. Her acting breakthrough came in the late ’90s with the French action film “The Fifth Element,” though it was the “Resident Evil” franchise that arguably made her a household name.
