Strap on your boots and space walk out to the countryside, because it’s a party in music city for Miley Cyrus. The Tennessee native just inked one of the Nashville area’s priciest real estate deals of 2022 — though it was never on the market, land registry records confirm the “Party in the USA” crooner has sold her sprawling Franklin ranch for $14.5 million.
Cyrus acquired the 33.5-acre estate in 2017 for “just” $5.8 million, meaning the property increased in value by 150% over only five years. While it’s likely the 29-year-old made some interior renovations during her stay, aerial views show the property and the exteriors of its various structures remain essentially unchanged. There’s still a farmhouse-style main residence with nearly 7,000 square feet of living space, plus a smaller detached barn-style building that would make a perfect recording studio, guesthouse or party pavilion.
Records also suggest the $14.5 million sale price is the second-most paid for a Nashville-area home this year, behind only the $18 million that Reese Witherspoon recently forked out for a much fancier compound in Nashville’s prestigious Belle Meade neighborhood. In Cyrus’ case, records reveal the spendy buyer is a Minneapolis native who is now the biggest franchisee of Dairy Queens worldwide — with more than 200 DQ stores under his Fourteen Foods umbrella.
Located about 20 miles south of Nashville, the Franklin digs are fully gated and set at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac for extra serenity. Most of the sprawling property is heavily wooded, and the circa-2014 main house has no close neighbors. In addition to five bedrooms, four full baths and two powder rooms, that structure offers a covered porch area, reclaimed wood flooring, a kitchen with premium Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, a rooftop deck, and a main floor master suite with a fireplace and soaking tub.
Photos below show how the rural property appeared in 2017, just before Cyrus’ purchase, when it was also with a games room/lounge area, though it’s possible Cyrus may have reconfigured that space into something else. Out back, a screened porch offers a fireplace, and there’s a big patio with a swimming pool and putting green.
Cyrus has recently been on a selling spree. Last year, she unloaded her Architectural Digest-featured Hidden Hills home for $7.2 million, and in 2020 she sold a secluded Malibu home to songwriter Matthew Wilder. Once upon a time, she also owned a huge Toluca Lake mansion that is now occupied by oil heir Nats Getty and his wife, YouTuber Gigi Gorgeous. As for current holdings, Cyrus still holds the deed to a $4 million house in the leafy foothills of L.A.’s Studio City neighborhood.
