Ever since LaKeith Stanfield was named one of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Next Gen Rising Stars” a little over five years ago, the film and TV actor’s career has continued to blossom. Not only did he go on to receive an Oscar nod for Best Supporting Actor, for his role in “Judas and the Black Messiah,” but he’s also reprising his turn as Darius in the long-awaited third season of the FX series “Atlanta,” airing March 24.
Stanfield’s also set to star in the 2023 movie “Haunted Mansion,” based on the popular Disney attraction, and Apple TV+’s upcoming drama series “The Changeling,” centered around Victor LaValle’s bestselling book of the same name.
Now his living circumstances are flourishing as well, with the successful thespian having just doled out $3.4 million for a modern house in the northeast Pasadena neighborhood of Los Angeles. Originally listed for $200,000 less, his newly acquired property was built in the 1960s, and includes five bedrooms and five baths in just over 5,000 square feet of sun-drenched living space. Those spacious environs and a secluded locale on a nearly half-acre lot sparked a bidding war.
Tucked away down a lengthy gated driveway, the structure is fronted by a motorcourt and an attached two-car garage. A bright blue front door opens into a foyer displaying steps leading up to the main level. From there, a formal living room greets and empties into an open great room boasting a fireside living room and dining room — both with sliding glass doors spilling out to an al fresco dining and lounging patio.
The dining area connects to an updated gourmet kitchen, which is outfitted with high-end Miele appliances, an eat-in island, cobalt blue cabinetry and a breakfast nook flanked by a custom temperature-controlled wine room and fridge. Three main-level ensuite bedrooms include a master suite warmed by a fireplace, plus a luxe bath equipped with dual vanities, a soaking tub and glass-encased shower.
Upstairs, a loft-style family room sports a wet bar, while a lower level accessible via the main floor and a separate entrance offers two additional bedrooms and a kitchenette; outdoors, the sprawling grounds include a grassy backyard holding a pool and spa.
A California native, the 30-year-old actor first gained attention in the film “Short Term 12,” which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination. Stanfield has also appeared in “Selma,” “Straight Outta Compton,” “Get Out,” “Knives Out,” and most recently, “The Harder They Fall.”
