Though he bought it only two years ago, just before the Covid lockdowns, “Riverdale” star and newly minted Lacoste brand ambassador Keneti James “KJ” Apa has decided to part ways with his stunning oasis-like home tucked away in the upper Nichols Canyon area of Hollywood Hills, asking nearly $3 million. That’s a jump above the $2.5 million the Kiwi actor originally paid for the stylish property, which he shares with his longtime girlfriend Clara Berry, but it appears there were a few decorative tweaks made to the place during his tenure.
Perched high atop the street, and nestled securely behind walls and a wood gate, the white stucco and terracotta tile roof structure features three bedrooms and an equal number of baths in a little over 3,500 square feet of sun-drenched living space. Spanish tile, dark hardwood floors, wood-beam ceilings, arched doorways and vintage light fixtures can be found throughout the house’s two levels.
Main-level highlights include a cozy den perfect for movie nights, a large formal living room anchored by an oversized Cantera fireplace and formal dining room. A family room abuts an updated gourmet kitchen, which is outfitted with custom cabinetry, marble countertops and high-end Viking appliances; and elsewhere on this floor are two en-suite guest bedrooms.
Upstairs, an expansive master retreat holds court beneath a soaring ceiling, and boasts a tile fireplace, seating area and custom walk-in closet. A spa-like bath is equipped with dual vanities, a clawfoot soaking tub and steam shower. Per the listing, a loft-like space on the second level can be used as an office, a library or fourth bedroom.
Wood-framed French doors gracing both the master suite and family room provide the quintessential SoCal indoor-outdoor lifestyle, spilling out to a spacious roof terrace overlooking canyon views and foliage-framed pool set amid a tiled courtyard. There’s also an attached four-car garage out front.
Apa, 24, first began acting in 2013 as Kane Jenkins in the New Zealand primetime soap opera “Shortland Street,” but his breakout role came when he was cast as Archie in “Riverdale” after a four-month worldwide talent search. He’s also starred in “A Dog’s Purpose,” “The Hate U Give,” “The Last summer,” “I Still Believe” and “Songbird.” Coming up, he’s set to appear in the military academy-based drama “West Pointer,” with “Riverdale” scheduled to return to TV screens in March.
