Seems as if the cliffhangers in Kevin McKidd’s life have been resolved. Spoiler alert: Not only did his “Grey’s Anatomy” character, Dr. Owen Hunt, somehow manage to survive that horrific car crash in the show’s midseason finale — albeit, with a severely busted leg and lengthy recovery ahead — but he’s also officially offloaded his real-life rustic-chic hideaway in the celeb-studded Fryman Canyon area of Los Angeles that’s lingered on the market for nearly two years!
Records reveal the buyers are acting duo Emmy Raver-Lampman and Daveed Digs — she most known for her role as Allison Hargreeves in the Netflix series “The Umbrella Academy,” and he for playing both Jefferson and Marquis de Lafayette in the hit Broadway musical “Hamilton” — who doled out a little more than $5 million for the Studio City property.
Though that’s a tad less than McKidd’s most recent asking price, it still tops the $4.6 million he and his private chef wife Arielle Goldrath paid for the place a little over three years ago. Originally listed for $4.995 million back in June 2020, the 1980s house underwent a couple of price reductions and was even floated for rent at $19,500 per month before resurfacing earlier this year with a higher $5.15 million pricetag.
Tucked away at the end of a secluded cul-de-sac, on a 0.38-acre parcel surrounded by parkland, the walled and gated structure features five bedrooms and 4.5 baths spread across 4,300 square feet of living space on two levels. Resting atop a three-car garage that opens to the tree-shaded motorcourt, the first floor is punctuated throughout with wide-plank oak hardwood floors and several sets of French doors that open to a travertine-clad piazza ideal for al fresco entertaining.
Other highlights include a spacious living room adorned with a wood-burning fireplace, and family room that connects to a gourmet kitchen outfitted with Carrera countertops, high-end appliances and an adjacent dining area sporting a built-in banquette. There’s also a wet bar-equipped game room, screening room and guest bedroom with its own bath.
Four additional ensuite bedrooms can also be found upstairs, including a cozy master retreat with dual walk-in closets, plus a marble bath equipped with dual vanities and a soaking tub; outdoors, the landscaped grounds are spotlighted by a deck that hovers over the lower-level piazza and serves as a bridge between the home and an upper terrace sporting a grassy lawn. Topping it all off: a barbecue area, and a pool and spa flanked by a guesthouse with a kitchenette, bath and an outdoor shower.
In addition to their newly acquired Studio City house, Lampman and Diggs also maintain a modern farmhouse-style residence in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Sherman Oaks that they picked up for $2.2 million back in 2019.
