Turns out Karla Souza knows how to get away with some pretty clandestine real estate transactions! The veteran actress — probably best known for her role as Laurel Castillo in the legal drama TV series “How to Get Away with Murder” — has swapped out one Westside Los Angeles home for another, with both having traded hands in off-market deals.
Months before Souza sold her circa-1940s house in Pacific Palisades for just over $3 million, the actress had already picked up the keys to charming classic Cape Cod-style digs just one block away. Records show the 37-year-old Mexico City native, who’s also appeared in “Day Shift” and “Home Economics,” paid $4.8 million for her new place back in October 2022.
Tucked away on a dainty parcel of land, the pale green and white-trimmed structure features four bedrooms and four baths in nearly 2,900 square feet on two floors — a substantial size advantage over her other Palisades dwelling, a cute little wood-shingled number with roughly 1,600 square feet of single-level living space.
As for her newly acquired residence, it’s fronted by a walkway that originates at a rose-laced trellis and passes through a grassy lawn before emptying out at a covered sitting porch. Inside, an entry hallway flows to a cozy library sporting a floor-to-ceiling wood-paneled fireplace with a brick surround.
From there, highlights include a formal dining room, as well as a spacious kitchen outfitted with gold-hued countertops, a farmhouse sink, breakfast bar and stainless Viking appliances. An adjacent wet bar-equipped family room has a fireplace and glass doors spilling outside.
There’s also an inviting master suite offering a walk-in closet and private balcony with peekaboo ocean views. A two-way fireplace connects on the other side to a spa-like bath, which is equipped with dual vanities, a soaking tub and steam shower; and elsewhere is a laundry room.
Outdoors, the fenced and gated backyard is rife with organic edible plants, and hosts an area specifically for tending to plants and a stone patio ideal for al fresco lounging. There’s also a wide driveway and two-car garage out front.
