Back in 2018, Henry Golding became an overnight sensation after starring in the mega-hit “Crazy Rich Asians.” The Malaysian-British actor, 35, subsequently appeared in several other films, including “A Simple Favor” and “Last Christmas.” More recently, he’s transformed from rom-com heartthrob to action hero in “Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins.” And as the story so often goes, success of this nature typically calls for an upgrade in one’s real estate circumstances, so he’s snapped up some snazzy new Los Angeles digs.
Records reveal Golding and his yoga instructor wife Liv Lo have plunked down exactly $2.4 million — nearly $100,000 over the asking price — in an off-market deal for an updated 1950s residence in the pricey Westside neighborhood of Mar Vista. The two-story white stucco and stone structure rests on a 0.14-acre parcel fronted by an attached two-car garage and grassy lawn, and features four bedrooms and three baths in just over 2,120 square feet of open-concept living space adorned with blonde hardwood floors and high ceilings.
Garnering attention on the main level is a spacious great room boasting an upgraded kitchen outfitted with high-end stainless appliances and a spacious eat-in island that abuts a fireside dining alcove and living room. Folding glass doors connect this area to a patio that’s ideal for al fresco dining and lounging; and three additional bedrooms can also be found on this level, including one with its own entrance and another that could easily serve as a home office.
Atop the stairs, there’s a cozy seating nook tucked into the windowed landing. Elsewhere is a light-filled master retreat holding its own sitting area and a walk-in closet with built-in shelves, plus French doors that open to a covered balcony overlooking coastline and marina views. A spa-inspired bath comes equipped with dual vanities, a freestanding soaking tub and glass-encased shower; and outdoors, the compact backyard packs in an in-ground hot tub.
Alaedin Tabatabai of Strategic Real Estate Investments was the listing agent for the Mar Vista property; Golding was repped by Jack Graniti of Pacifica West Properties.
