Now that they’ve bought a big new Los Angeles home from “Grey’s Anatomy” star Kevin McKidd, Emmy Raver-Lampman and Daveed Diggs have unsurprisingly placed their house in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Sherman Oaks on the market. The couple is asking $2.9 million for the trendy modern farmhouse-style digs they picked up brand new for $2.2 million almost four years ago, back in July 2018.
But the acting duo — she most known for her role as Allison Hargreeves in the Netflix series “The Umbrella Academy,” and he for playing Thomas Jefferson and Marquis de Lafayette in the Broadway musical “Hamilton” — did enlist interior designer Mandy Cheng to personally customize the premises during their tenure, as seen in a 2021 issue of “Architectural Digest.”
Resting on a gated and hedged corner lot, and protected by security cameras and alarms, the two-story residence features an attached two-car garage tucked discreetly off the side of the house. Inside, five bedrooms and six baths are spread across 3,505 square feet of open-concept living space equipped with Control4 automation and surround sound throughout.
A double-height entryway displaying wire-brushed wide-plank hardwood floors and a colorfully carpeted staircase opens into the main level. From there, a fireside living room dons a pair of whimsical hanging wicker chairs and a formal dining room is topped by a swanky chandelier — with both areas flanked by a former wine closet tucked beneath the stairs that has since been converted into a glass-encased “record room” for Diggs’ prized collection.
Other highlights include a family room adorned with French doors spilling out to a covered loggia with fireplace, which connects to a gourmet kitchen outfitted with bespoke green-hued cabinetry, brass shelves and a patterned tile backsplash, plus an eat-in island, high-end Viking appliances, a walk-in pantry and wet bar; and elsewhere on the lower level is an ensuite guest bedroom that currently serves as an office.
Four additional ensuite bedrooms can be found upstairs, including the sumptuous master retreat boasting a sitting area, private balcony and walk-in closet. A luxe spa-like bath is decked out with dual vanities, a dressing area, soaking tub and separate shower.
And though they’re compact, the nicely amenitized grounds come complete with a resort-like backyard holding a pool and spa sporting a Baja shelf and waterfall feature, along with a barbecue area and an expansive deck hosting a lounging spot encircling a large fire-pit.
