Now that “Shameless” has wrapped after a full decade on the TV airwaves, Emma Kenney finally has time for some residential relaxation. The 21-year-old Manhattan native — who’s better-known to the public as William H. Macy’s daughter Debbie Gallagher on the uber-popular Showtime series and also starred in the short-lived “Roseanne” revival — has plunked down $3.1 million for her first house, a stylishly upgraded (albeit nearly all-white) home in the steep hills directly above L.A.’s bustling Sunset Strip and West Hollywood areas.
The house was sold to Kenney by Stefan Krause, the former president of COO and EV automaker Fisker Inc., who took a bit of a bath on the transaction. Records reveal he paid just over $3.2 million for the property only about four years ago, back in July 2017.
The walled and gated structure features an unusual entry setup. There’s a two-story but entirely windowless façade; off to one side, a gated walkway leads down stairs to the front door. Inside, however, things are light, bright, and very contemporary, with white oak hardwood floors throughout and luxe amenities aplenty. The open, eat-in kitchen has marble countertops and top-of-the-line stainless appliances, while the adjoining family offers a fireplace and walls of glass sliders connecting to a wooden patio. All three of the sunny bedrooms offer ensuite bathrooms.
But the property really shines outdoors, where the house wraps around its courtyard-like gardens. Hidden beneath the mature palm trees are a freeform swimming pool and adjoining firepit with built-in banquette seating. Separate wooden decks overlook the grounds as does the detached two-car garage, which has been tricked out into a “bonus” flex living space with a large Buddha/meditation area and two enormous arched windows.
