Actor and comedian Donald Faison and longtime wife CaCee Cobb have bought a spacious home in the foothills of L.A.’s Tarzana neighborhood. Records show the couple paid around $230,000 over asking for the two-story residence, which packs in everything from a speakeasy-style library/theater just off the master suite to a fully decked-out kitchen ideal for entertaining.
Most recognized for his nine-year run as Dr. Christopher Turk in the NBC/ABC TV comedy/drama “Scrubs,” the 48-year-old New York City native also has appeared in the film and subsequent TV series “Clueless,” and currently co-hosts iHeart’s “Fake Doctors, Real Friends” podcast with his “Scrubs” co-star and best friend Zach Braff. As for Cobb, 45, the Texan is probably best known as Jessica Simpson’s former assistant.
Built in 1980 and recently updated, the place is nestled at the end of a hidden, very quiet cul-de-sac holding four custom estates. Fronted by a driveway that empties out at an attached three-car garage tucked off to the side of the house, the rock-accented structure has six bedrooms and a matching number of baths in over 5,000 square feet of living space boasting integrated audio and security systems.
A striking entryway opens into a double-height foyer adorned with decorative tile floors and dangling light fixtures. From there, the main level is highlighted by a living room featuring a fireplace, leaded glass windows and French doors spilling out to the backyard, plus a formal dining room lined with windows and mirrors. A family room rests beneath a wood-beam ceiling, and has a lounging space and additional bay window seating.
A breakfast nook with glass sliders flows out to an al fresco dining area, and connects to a kitchen outfitted with heated floors, an eat-in island, custom Poggenpohl cabinetry and lots of appliances — including both electric and gas ranges, three ovens, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, wine fridge and built-in coffeemaker. There’s also an ensuite bedroom, along with a spacious room with built-in cabinetry and mirrors that could easily serve as a gym, per the listing.
Upstairs, a fireside master retreat sports a spa-inspired bath equipped with dual vanities, a dressing area, soaking tub and steam shower. A hallway in the large walk-in closet leads to the aforementioned speakeasy-style library/theater, which comes complete with a wet bar and built-in popcorn machine. Three more bedrooms — one with its own bath, and the other two sharing a Jack and Jill bath — also can be found on this floor.
Outdoors, the woodsy grounds are sited next to 5 acres of private gardens, and host a natural rock black-bottom pool and separate jacuzzi surrounded by a sprawling flagstone terrace, as well as a bath with shower, fire-pit and sports court.
