“Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe has off-loaded one of his two multimillion-dollar lower Manhattan condos, taking in $5.3 million on the sale of an 11th-floor unit at One Morton Square, a complex that occupies an entire city block in the far West Village.
The busy movie star and stage actor, soon to be seen on the TV as Weird Al Yankovic in Roku’s satirical biopic “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” and soon to take the stage in the “starry” Off Broadway revival of “Merrily We Roll Along,” turned a tidy profit on the not quite 2,500-square-foot spread that he scooped up in 2008 for $4.9 million.
The New York Post was the first to suss out the sale, while tax records indicate the new owner is Dutch fashion magnate Fokke de Jong, whose Suitsupply brand is known for its racy and controversial ad campaigns. The condo was listed with Jane Greenberg and David Costelloe of Avenue 8.
With a curved wall of glass in the 400-plus-square-foot living room that provides a panoramic view of the New Jersey skyline over the Hudson River, the corner unit offers three bedrooms, each with an en-suite bath and walk-in closet, a sleekly appointed L-shaped kitchen, and between the adjoining dining room and den, a television that can be swiveled around to be viewed from either room. Other highlights include crisp white walls free of any extraneous moldings, motorized window shades, two steam showers, two breakfast bars (one in the dining room the other in the den), and a laundry closet.
Common charges total up to almost $3,100 per month and cover a laundry list of amenities that include full-time doorman, concierge and porter services, a fitness center, a children’s playroom, a bike storage room, and on-site parking. Previous high-profile tenants of One Morton Square include Oliver Stone, Mike Myers, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Amy Poehler and Will Arnett, back when they were married to each other.
Radcliffe’s other Manhattan condo is in the nearby Noho neighborhood. Acquired in late 2007 for almost $4.3 million, the two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath residence has popped up several times over the years as a luxury rental, most recently last year at a rate of $14,500 per month.
