In real life, she’s not quite the bossy tech company CFO she portrayed on “The White Lotus,” but Connie Britton is certainly adept at getting what she wants. The prolific Hollywood actress (“American Horror Story,” “Nashville,” “Friday Night Lights,” “Spin City,” “Dirty John”) and her longtime partner, “This Is Us” writer/producer David E. Windsor, recently won a fierce bidding war for their stylish new Santa Monica home.
Records indicate Britton and Windsor hold 50/50 stakes in the property, which they picked up for about $5.6 million — $600,000 over the asking price. Custom built in 2016, the contemporary house was designed by Dub Studios for Larry Fitzgibbon, founder of the Tastemade video network. Sited on an 8,000 square foot lot in a leafy part of Santa Monica, the two-story residence packs in a trove of bespoke finishes and amenities.
Invisible from the street behind a towering hedgerow, the blocky house features a rather forbidding entryway, complete with a custom front door hewn from exotic hardwood. Inside, the open-concept main floor is essentially one giant room, offering dedicated nooks for dining, lounging, sitting and cooking. The kitchen is a chef’s dream, flaunting high-end Liebherr and Wolf appliances, plus an eat-in island and retro breakfast banquette. There’s also a large private office just off the foyer, which the listing notes could also serve as the home’s fourth bedroom.
The three remaining bedrooms are located upstairs, with two smallish guest rooms sharing a single bathroom. A lavish master suite takes up most of this upper level, and it comes complete with a walk-in closet, steam shower, soaking tub and a private balcony with planters filled with fragrant jasmine.
Out back, the yard is relatively spacious for this tightly-packed part of town. While there’s no pool, the fully landscaped lot does offer lush grassy lawns, an al fresco dining patio cobbled from decomposed granite, drought tolerant gardens and high hedges for privacy.
Born and raised on the East Coast, Britton has been working steadily in Hollywood for nearly three decades. Over the years, the 55-year-old has amassed a considerable real estate portfolio; in addition to her new Santa Monica digs, she also owns a multimillion-dollar Mediterranean villa-style residence in L.A.’s Los Feliz area, a spacious house in Austin, Texas, and a luxury condo in Manhattan’s Nolita neighborhood.
Windsor, 50, recently inked a multiyear overall development deal with 20th Television. He previously owned another Santa Monica house, which records show was deeded over to his ex-wife in 2019.
