I’m sure she’s so glad they had this time together! But after two decades of ownership, Carol Burnett has decided to say so long to her Los Angeles home in Westwood’s Wilshire high-rise residential tower. Records show the legendary comedian and actress is asking $4.2 million for the condo, which is listed by Graham J. Larson of Sotheby’s International Realty Pacific Palisades Brokerage.
According to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the story, Burnett and her musician husband Brian Miller initially purchased a 25th-floor unit in the building in the late 1990s. When they relocated to Santa Barbara in 2002, the couple picked up another place several floors down for $1.26 million to use as a pied-à-terre.
Tucked away on the 13th floor, and extensively renovated in 2011, the three-bedroom, three-bath unit features just over 2,500 square feet of living space boasting a controlled-access elevator that opens into a private foyer, walnut floors, stone countertops, designer lighting, surround sound and floor-to-ceiling walls of glass. Two verandas are ideal for al fresco dining and lounging, and also offer picturesque city and mountain views.
Highlights include a Neoporte steel entry door that leads into a fireside living room, plus a gourmet kitchen sporting an eat-in peninsula and high-end stainless appliances. There’s also a master retreat outfitted with dual walk-in closets and baths, the latter of which is equipped with a dressing area lined with lighted mirrors; and elsewhere is another bedroom that’s been converted into an office space.
The star’s unit also comes with numerous amenities courtesy of a monthly HOA fee, including valet parking, a doorman, concierge, fitness center, pool and spa.
Burnett, 89, is best known for hosting “The Carol Burnett Show” for 11 years, from 1967 to 1978. She’s also appeared in several movies, including “The Four Seasons,” “Annie” and “Noises Off.” Most recently, the six-time Emmy winner starred in “Better Call Saul,” and is also set to join the cast of the upcoming mini-series “Mrs. American Pie” alongside Kristen Wiig and Allison Janney.
