Having recently completed a radical transformation of her waterfront home in Jupiter, Fla., tennis legend Serena Williams has hoisted another of her homes, an elevator equipped three-story manse in the guard gated and famously celebrified Summit enclave in the mansion-dotted mountains between Beverly Hills and Studio City, Calif., up for sale at $7.5 million.
The 39-year-old 23-time Grand Slam winner, knocked out of last year’s Australian Open in the semifinals by phenom Naomi Osaka, bought the then brand-spanking-new modern-minded take on a California-style Spanish villa not quite 3.5 years ago for $6.68 million.
Completed 2017 and set behind a high fence and secured gates on a triangular-shaped parcel of more than one-quarter of and acre, the home spans nearly 6,000 square feet with five bedrooms and five full and two-half bathrooms. High-tech creature comforts and designer finishes include a comprehensive home automation system, three custom plaster fireplaces and honey-toned brushed oak floorboards throughout. The home’s high perch allows for views across the flat sprawl of the San Fernando Valley from the front of the house.
Previous residents of the moneyed Summit enclave include late late-night talk show wingman Ed McMahon, rocker Eddie Van Halen and pop star Britney Spears — her former home recently changed hands at $6.1 million. Current homeowners include comedian Chris D’Elia, actor/singer/entrepreneur Hillary Duff and comedian Sebastian Maniscalco who, just about 1.5 years ago, paid Gwen Stefani a staggering $21.6 million for a 15,000-square-foot Kelly Wearstler-designed mansion previously owned by Jennifer Lopez.
The Williams property is jointly listed with Amit Lalji of Keller Williams Beverly Hills and Greg Piechota of Compass.
