Jalen Ramsey Hikes Hidden Hills Home on the Market at $14 Million

On his way to Miami to cover and defend for the Dolphins, former L.A. Rams star cornerback Jalen Ramsey has hiked his Hidden Hills mansion on the market for $14 million. Lee Mintz at Compass holds the listing.

The 28-year-old Super Bowl LVI champion, once the highest paid defensive back in NFL history, hauling in more than $25 million annually, acquired the modern farmhouse-style manse in late 2020 for $9.5 million.

Beyond the plush, monochromatic gray décor throughout the house, few alterations were made to the interior, which disperses seven bedrooms and eight and a half bathrooms across about 10,000 square feet over three floors. The 1.14-acre grounds, however, were extensively enhanced with the addition of a sport court, the extension of a poolside pavilion, and, most notably, the installation of elaborate formal terraced gardens that climb the hillside behind the house.

Completed in 2020, the home has all the high-tech accouterments and luxury conveniences typical of a recently built mansion in one of L.A.’s most illustrious, expensive, and celeb-filled enclaves. Rooms flow easily into one another on the main floor; fine materials include a plethora of European white oak and Calacatta marble; and a smart home system controls the lighting, security, and audio/visual systems.

All bedrooms are en suite, with the primary going the extra mile with a private sitting room, a double-sided fireplace, and two fitted walk-in closets. The spa bath is sheathed in marble, and a balcony offers a head-on view of the expertly pruned gardens.

No longer the depressing fake wood-paneled rec rooms of the 1970s, the finished basement is outfitted as a five-star leisure suite. A huge lounge showcases a professional wet bar and a climate-controlled wine room, and a room-wide bank of windows opens the lounge to a sunken terrace with a freestanding sauna box. There’s also a glassed-in office, a state-of-the-art theater, and a gym.

In the blazing-hot summer, the covered patio, complete with a built-in barbecue, is the perfect shady spot from which to survey the lush and grassy backyard. A black-tiled zero-edge spa spills over into a swimming pool, and, rising behind the pool and sport court, the terraced gardens are lined with faux-grass patios and carefully sculpted bushes. Several perches nestled among the perfectly pruned plantings look down on the pool and out over the surrounding treetops.

Hidden Hills may be losing an NFL superstar, but, along with a rolodex of successful businesspeople and other deep-pocketed types, there’s still a red carpet full of homeowners from the sports and entertainment worlds: Madonna, though her place, bought from The Weeknd, is now for sale at $23.5 million; Nicki Minaj; Jessica Simpson; Will and Jada Smith; Lori Loughlin; Sylvester Stallone, who is trying to unload his place for $21.3 million; numerous members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan; and a fair number of the L.A. Rams’ roster.
