With a new and record-breaking $72 million contract extension inked last summer, DeKaylin “DK” Metcalf has gone house shopping. The highly compensated Seahawks wide receiver remains based in Seattle, where he already owns a luxury home, but the 25-year-old has beefed up that real estate portfolio with the addition of properties in Los Angeles and his native Mississippi, where he’s dropped a total of nearly $7 million on vacation houses.
In L.A., Metcalf has bought a $5.4 million home in the fabled Bird Streets, one of the city’s most expensive neighborhoods. Originally built in 1954 but radically rebuilt in recent years and redesigned by Michael Palumbo, the wood-clad residence packs three bedrooms and 3.5 baths into nearly 3,000 square feet of plush living space.
In Mississippi, Metcalf scored a 15-acre estate in the rural town of Taylor, just outside his hometown of Oxford. It’s not clear how much he paid for the equestrian-friendly compound, but the property was last offered at $1.4 million and includes a roughly 5,000-square-foot house of indeterminate architectural style, plus a 6-stall barn for horses, a riding arena, two ponds and a 40-foot swimming pool.
And back in Washington state, Metcalf continues to own a newly built Craftsman-style home in the city of Sammarish, about 15 miles due east of Seattle, which he back bought back in 2020.
As for the Bird Streets compound (below), the property also contains spectacular views of L.A.’s city basin, plus a petite plunge pool and terraces for al fresco dining and entertaining. There’s a two-car attached garage, plus additional off-street parking for four more vehicles. Other features of note include recessed LED lights throughout, Miele appliances and a high-tech Control4 security system. The home’s two guest bedrooms are located on the ground level, while the master suite takes up the entire second floor.
