Although he hasn’t occupied the premises in years, a Los Angeles estate still owned by LeBron James has popped up for sale with a whopping $20.5 million ask. Unfortunately for the basketball superstar and budding media titan’s pocketbook, that’s $500,000 less than the $21 million he paid for the place more than five years ago, way back in October 2015, when his current Lakers career was still a proverbial twinkle in some sports analyst’s eye.

Image Credit: Redfin Set on prestigious Rockingham Drive — the same street made infamous by O.J. Simpson all those years ago — in the elite Brentwood Park neighborhood, the walled and gated property consists of a nearly 9,500-square-foot, two-story mansion on a sprawling lot that spans more than a half-acre, with views of the surrounding hills.

All the public rooms are grandly proportioned, of course, and they additionally include a family room with fuchsia accent chairs that opens via two sets of sliding doors to a loggia with plenty of room for al fresco entertaining. Both the family and living rooms also include masonry fireplaces, two of four in the home.

Like the rest of the main floor, the kitchen also has wheat-colored hardwood floors that flow into the adjoining semicircular breakfast room. A second family room, meanwhile, lies just off a wood-paneled office and is currently outfitted with a fancy portable bar and a flatscreen TV, plus there’s another set of sliding glass doors opening to a patio.

A sitting area and fireplace lie in the bedroom, which is wrapped in a blue wallpaper, and a New Age-inspired chandelier dangles from the vaulted ceiling. Five additional bedrooms, a mudroom, gym, and an elevator complete the elegant offering.

Arguably the estate’s best feature is its backyard, where a well-tended grassy lawn runs out to a lap-lane swimming pool, complete with an inset spa and semicircular Baja shelf. A cabana lies at the pool’s south side, and westward views occasionally include inland-traveling mist from the ocean.

Image Credit: Redfin Although the property appears well-maintained, James and his family haven’t lived in this home since at least 2017, when the 6’9″ star plunked down $23.5 million for his current main residence, another mansion elsewhere in Brentwood. And last year, James made all the news headlines when he paid $36.8 million for a hilltop 90210 compound once owned by Hugh Hefner and occupied by Katharine Hepburn.
