Now that Carmelo and La La Anthony have officially offloaded the Los Angeles home they once shared, the divorced couple can finally close another chapter on their bygone marriage. Long ago vacated by the NBA All-star and his former actress wife, the Spanish-style bungalow first popped up for sale in February for $2.6 million. Records show the property has now been sold to a non-famous buyer for $3 million — roughly $700,000 over what they paid for the place some 13 years ago, back in spring 2010.
Originally built way back in the 1920s, the premises have since been extensively renovated. Nestled in the heart of the Beverly Grove neighborhood, amid a gated and hedged parcel spanning a little more than a tenth of an acre, the white stucco and terracotta-roof structure has three bedrooms and a matching number of baths in just over 2,100 square feet of open-concept living space boasting hardwood floors, high wood-beam ceilings and wide arched doorways throughout.
A walkway passes through a grassy yard before emptying out at a covered entryway nestled alongside an enclosed courtyard accented by a freshly planted olive tree. Once inside, a sunken fireside living room with a large picture window offers views of the front yard, while the formal dining room connects to a galley-style kitchen outfitted with white cabinetry, a subway tile backsplash, wine fridge, high-end stainless appliances, and an accompanying breakfast nook sporting lime-washed walls and a huge globe light fixture.
Elsewhere is a cozy family room, plus a posh master retreat sporting a walk-in closet, and a luxe bath equipped with dual vanities, a soaking tub and glass-encased shower; and outdoors, the private backyard hosts a plunge pool and spa flanked by an open-air cabana and a wood sundeck, along with additional turf-clad spots ideal for relaxing. There’s also a gated driveway tucked off to the side that leads to a two-car garage.
As for the erstwhile couple’s current residential circumstances, Knicks legend Carmelo still owns a revamped condo in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood that has been for sale over the past few years, while La La is set up at new digs in her hometown of Brooklyn.
The listing was held by Nima Tehrany of Compass; Benjamin Illulian and Bahar Hakakian of Illulian Realty repped the buyer.
