Once preeminent veteran YouTuber Toby Turner has hoisted his former home in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley on the market at $2.69 million, exactly twice the $1.345 million paid for the Studio City home in 2012.
Once a pioneering and crowd-pleasing mainstay of YouTubers — he still has almost 25 million subscribers across his four YouTube channels, Turner’s influence and popularity have waned significantly over the last five or six years. Though a few of the famously exuberant Mississippi-born internet personality’s recent videos have gathered up a few hundred thousand views, their popularity is a calamitous far cry from the tens of millions of impressions his videos frequently received during his heyday a decade ago.
Partially obscured behind a curved hedgerow that defines the grassy and otherwise fairly featureless courtyard entry, the nearly 3,600-square-foot home has undergone comprehensive updates during the course of Turner’s ownership. There are dark, textured wood floors, an in-ceiling speaker system and custom stone tile work throughout.
Just inside the front door a massive, double-sided stacked stone fireplace divides the living room from a den/games room complete with a custom wet bar with back-lit coved ceiling. The dining area that adjoins the main living room sports a full wall of custom storage cabinets, while the kitchen features stone tile work, lustrous jet-black Shaker-style cabinets and shimmering stainless steel appliances offset by tan colored stone flooring.
The home’s five bedrooms and four bathrooms include three guest bedrooms on the main level, one of them with a private bath. Two more bedrooms upstairs, both with lavender wall-to-wall carpeting, include a spacious en suite set up for guests and a roomy homeowner’s retreat replete with a stainless steel trimmed fireplace, glass sliders to a large balcony and an extravagantly tiled bathroom.
Out back, in the palm tree strewn backyard, a stone-paved covered patio outside the living and family rooms includes a built-in grilling area. And, beyond a patchy bit of grass and a lagoon-style dark-bottom swimming pool, a deck extends out over the scrubby hillside with open canyon and mountain view.

Though there were reports several years ago that the relentlessly energetic YouTuber, accused in 2016 by a former girlfriend of sexual abuse and drug abuse — he later claimed the allegations were “absolutely false,” packed up his pooches and hightailed it to Washington, Turner still owns a smaller home in the same Studio City neighborhood, which he picked up in 2012 for $650,000. Tax records indicate he also owns a modest and ordinary, ersatz Mediterranean four-bedroom tract home in a generic Las Vegas neighborhood that he scooped up in the spring of 2018 for a wee morsel more than $300,000.
