Cheyenne Jackson Lists 'Eclectic, Retro' Hollywood Hills Hideaway

location: Los Angeles, Calif.
price: $2.088 million
size: 1,767 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms

Cheyenne Jackson, one of the few but growing number of out gay actors in Hollywood, listed his modestly sized home near the top of L.A.’s Nichols Canyon with an asking price of $2.088 million. The chisel-chinned “Glee” and “American Horror Story” actor, who will appear next year in the TV series “American Woman,” based on the life of former child actor turned “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards, purchased the stylishly updated, “eclectic, retro” 1950s ranch house in February 2015, shortly after he married second husband Jason Landau, for $1.59 million. Set privately behind a high fence with an electronic driveway gate that opens to a two-car car port and off-street parking for half of a dozen more cars, the single-level residence has three bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,767-square-feet.
Ebony-stained hardwood floors run throughout interconnected living spaces that include a small but proper entrance hall and a cozily proportioned living room with barrel-vaulted ceiling, an entire wall of custom built-in floor-to-ceiling book shelves and a muscular, minimalist fireplace. The adjoining dining area has a snazzy sputnik-style chandelier and two immense picture windows with verdant view while the petite but well-equipped galley style kitchen is open to the living room over a snack counter and fitted high-quality stainless steel appliances and inky black granite counter tops on jet black cabinetry.
One of the home’s bedrooms has been done up as a den with downright dizzying black-and-white palm frond patterned wallpaper while the serene but decoratively glam-tinged master suite opens to a quiet private garden and includes a pass-through dressing room with custom cabinetry and a sky light topped bathroom with marble-topped double sink vanity, soaking tub and tile-lined shower area.
Wood-trimmed glass sliders in the living room and den provide convenient access to a humongous dining and lounging deck that runs along the back of the house with retractable canvas awnings and a through-the-trees view across a deep canyon while the remainder of the impeccably landscaped and carefully groomed grounds are visually enhanced with extensive custom lighting.
Presumably Misters Jackson and Landau plan to relocate to a larger, more family friendly property that will better accommodate their growing family as they are fathers of fraternal twins born just over a year ago.

LGB you always read my mind. I thought the same about stylish. Love it. Would make a perfect pied a terre and I would add a spool. Oh and take out the wallpaper in the bedroom. Done!
